"I was actually born in Hastings although I did not live in the town in my early years. After qualifying as an Environmental Health Officer, I moved to Hastings with a view to staying for two years to gain experience. Forty years on, still in Hastings, I look back on a career which eventually saw me responsible for all of the external services provided by the council as Executive Director for Regeneration, Planning and Community Services.

I left the council in 2003 and joined the Regional Development Agency specifically to work with the newly established regeneration company Sea Space, which has been responsible for the delivery of regeneration projects in Hastings and Bexhill. I have been particularly interested in education led regeneration as a way of ensuring that local residents gain the benefit of employment opportunities and that is how I became involved with Horizons Hub.

I am married with three daughters and seven grandchildren, my interests include golf, gardening and cooking."
